Early Years Baseline Assessment
The government are now piloting the new reception baseline assessment across thousands of schools in England, of which Hazelbury is one. It is a short, interactive assessment carried out in the first 6 weeks of reception between a child and their teacher or teaching assistant. This will form the start of a new progress measure for schools and will inform teachers of the level at which your child is working when they enter to Reception in order to measure their progress as they go through the school.
